Hereford and the surrounding areas
Package of work completed in our local village of St. Weonards. Work consisted of dismantling a diseased (Ash Dieback/ Ganoderma) veteran Ash which had been poorly reduced prior leaving it declining and dangerous over a greenhouse/ seating area.
Team additionally moved timber at clients convenience and cross-cut into firewood. The monstrous stump was then ground out completely before ground level. Client was then able to re-landscape the area from a blank canvas.

The avenue of mature Poplars had been pollarded previously 20 plus years ago. This made them suitable to re-pollarded at a mature age, as they could then rejuvenate over the next 20 years. Pollarding is a great way if applicable to retain specimen within their surroundings whiles managing the growth of the canopy.
Team and equipment worked hard to complete the package of work within a 5 day window. Arisings were all chipped onsite for use around the property and timber stacked in the paddock ready for processing into firewood. We also provided tracking mats to protect the lawn from repetitive machinery movements.
Package of safety works including felling, monolith/pollards and re-coppicing of specimens identify as a future risk to a nearby public footpath (Piercefield wood/ Castle wood in Chepstow) and neighbouring Chepstow comprehensive school.
Trees highlighted in report were identified majority with extensive Ash Dieback. Other trees had grown at a 45c angle towards light becoming structurally unsound. Mature coppice stools which previously missed being re-coppicing could become prone to failure. Team also aided future inspections by severing 1ft sections of ivy around the circumference of the trunks.

New woodland restoration project coming on well in St. Weonards and Garway🌳👌🏽 Area of neglected woodland cleared of windblown trees, oversized and failed coppices and pioneering species. Replaces with a mixture of British hardwoods and small coupes of soft wood to add future game cover and encourage hardwood growth through competition. 🌳🌲🌳 Next step is managing the site over the next 5 years with weed suppression and the restocking of any failed saplings. 🤓🌱🌳
Woodland restoration project in St. Weonards underway through the method of ‘continuous cover’ woodland management.
Technique involves breaking up the age structure of the woodland via felling coupes of poor specimens and restocking with a mixture of British hardwoods.
Over decades this will rebalance the age structure and diversity of the woodland for future generations to manage.
